| Ok... life's great. I have one more semester of grad school. I'm playing Olivia in Twelfth Night for my MFA. Evan and I might stay in Staunton and work for The American Shakespeare Center (we've been together about a year now.) About 20 of us are going to London this summer and performing scenes at the Globe -- yes, the thought makes me hyperventilate with glee.. I'm staying up here for the holidays (had to for Thanksgiving too) because I'm in A Christmas Carol and Elves and the Shoemaker... so busy, busy, busy...
I'm calling many of you this week. And yes I know, it's about damn time. Obviously I suck. This much I can promise you guys -- rarely, if ever, a day goes by that I don't think of you. The problem is that I often think of calling you when I'm trapped in rehearsal or class...and by the time it dawns on my again it's 2am (and I know most of you probably have early mornings) ot I'm no where near a phone. Now, that I've gotten defensive, I will reitterate: I suck. I can't wait to talk to you guys. I do miss you and wish I could have some holiday fun with each one of you. I hope life is treating everyone marvelously!
I love you all -- I can't believe my xanga site still exists... it seems like cyber space should have given my the boot by now...
| Hayley, Betsy and Kacy -- my cell phone is on the blitz! Otherwise I would totally call you back after the cute message you left! I'm sorry! I have to find a verizon place around here... I love you all! (that includes anyone who is not one the three I just mentioned -- and the three I just mentioned... I love you too!)
Had my first MFA acting class today. It's gonna kick my butt...
| Guess what my class schedule looks like this semester? MFA Acting Studio which meets Monday's and Wednesday's from 9-12. Advanced Acting for the Elizabethan Stage which meets on Friday's from 9-12. And, I can use my job at Shenandoah Shakespeare as my MFA internship. Yep, there's my full 9 credit hours (a whole semester in grad school -- though I've always taken 12 until now...) Oh, and the murder mystery dinner theatre gig has been extended for the whole year. Every Wednesday night six of us (including the EvanMeister) travel up to Massanutten Ski resort and put on show, and then afterwards we get payed (75$ for two hours of entertainment) and fed the entire five course meal the guests got. I'm beyond excited that the resort is extending our contracts. And, I'm still doing children's shows every Saturday morning -- it too pays, but very litte. The kids are adorable though -- which makes pretending to spin gold on an antique spinning wheel totally worth it. So yeah, I'm pretty psyched that for a while I will be doing tons of theatre and nothing acamdemic. I also told Woodrow Wilson Birthplace that from now on I can only work a couple of weekends a month. I am primarily working for my professor Frank (which consists of filing students stuff and making him coffee -- oh, and eating Cadberry Eggs...) and as an actor. I realize my lif is going to be just as busy as before once I have rehearsal schedules and what not -- but this is going to be fathoms less taxing than the last two years... And to be entirely selfish, I think I might even deserve this down time... I did, however, not deserve the three new outfits I bought at the mall... Bad Julie. Broke Julie.
I love you all! | | |
| Ok, after a long bout of not having a phone or internet I have returned the right century... it really sucks to have no way to communicate with people and vice versa... oh, but my car is broken... yea... | | |
| Two of my professors can't find family members in London right now...
Hayley, please tell Helena I'm glad she's ok.
